Tears In Ibadan As Olubadan Dies At 93

The city of Ibadan has been thrown into mourning Sunday morning with news of the demise of The Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Adetunji.

The monarch who was 93-years-old, passed away today (2 January) at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, Oyo state according to various sources from the ancient city.

He was crowned the 41st Olubadan of Ibadan following his coronation on March 4, 2016.

Prior to his coronation as the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji was the Balogun (warrior) of Ibadan land.

Oba Adetunji was a successful businessman and Ibadan was peaceful during his reign.

There has not been further comments by the management of UCH or the family as Toke Akinrinlola the Public Relations Officer could not give further information about the sad news.
