Anambra Wins National Primary Healthcare Leadership Awards Gets $ m

Anambra State has won two awards on National Primary Healthcare Leadership Challenge.

The state won the “best state” in the Primary Healthcare Leadership challenge in the South-east zone and was given a cheque of $500,000 and the overall best state in the country and another cheque of $700,000, bringing the total prize money won by Anambra to $1.2m (One million two hundred thousand dollars).

The event organised on Thursday, was sponsored by the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Aliko Dangote Foundation, Federal Ministry of Health, and UNICEF.

The Primary Health Care Leadership Challenge seeks to increase the governors’ dedication to primary healthcare and human capital development, mobilise state resources, encourage accountability, and stimulate innovation for gender-specific health outcomes.
