Tinubu and Emmanuel Macron visited the historic Foyer of the National Des Invalides, a military museum, for a military parade honouring the visiting President of Nigeria.

This is the first official state visit by a Nigerian leader in more than two decades.

National anthems of both Nigeria and France were played to mark the official kick off of  activities scheduled for the visit.

Both leaders are seeking increased economic cooperation.

This comes at a time Paris is seeking to boost ties with English-speaking African nations, following growing frosty relationship with its former allies on the continent.
