Nigeria’s representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup Enyimba International on Sunday evening defeated visiting Al Ittihad of Libya 2-0 in the second leg of the competition.

The win might be enough to take the two time Africa Champions League winners to the group stages of the competition if the first leg which was not eventually played.

The People’s Elephant were unable to go our the first leg in Tunks, the adopted home of the Libyans as they were held up in Morocco due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Sadeeq Yusuf got the Aba Millionaires ahead before Victor Mbaoma doubled the lead before half-time.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) would need to decide whether to go on with the planned first leg fixture or consider the game Enyimba won as a one-legged affair.

Meanwhile striker Victor Mbaoma took to his Facebook page to show gratitude to God for his goal and the team’s victory over the Libyans.

“I will never be ungrateful to You oh Lord!!! Thank You Lord for my goal and the victory today against Ai ittihad of Libya.
