Anthony Joshua’s recent defeat by Daniel Dubois has taken its toll his standing in the latest Boxing heavyweight rankings.
The Nigeria-British pugillist suffered a massive defeat at Wembley September 21 in front of a massive 98,000 spectators, in bout that left many dumbfounded. Anthony who was ranked third prior to the fight has now rolled down the ladder four places to the 7th position.

The updated rankings also see Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang in third and fourth place, with Agit Kabayel and Martin Bakole in fifth and sixth place respectively, all ranking higher than Joshua.
Meanwhile, the upcoming heavyweight showdown between Usyk and Tyson Fury has sparked discussions about a potential rematch between Dubois and Anthony Joshua, with a tentative date set for early next year.

Despite the one-sided outcome of the September 21 bout, Joshua has expressed his determination to continue fighting.
That desire will however remain in limbo at least for the next one month after AJ was handed a 28 days ban by British Boxing board following that defeat by lowly rated Daniel Dubois.
The defeat by Dubois means he successfully defended his IBF heavyweight title, while Anthony Joshua’s future was subjected to uncertainty.
By standard procedure, the British Boxing Board of Control has enforced a 28-day suspension for Joshua, preventing him from entering the ring in the said period.
This action is in line with the regulations of the Association of Boxing Commissions and Combative Sports, which require fighters to be issued medical suspensions following knockouts (KO) and technical knockouts (TKO).
This implies that only be permitted to box from November 2024 as he had insisted that he is not thinking of retiring from the sport despite suffering four defeats in the last three years.
