Donald Trump Criticises Kamala Harris, Calling Her The "Weakest Presidential Candidate" On Crime

Trump’s Claims on Kamala Harris’ Candidacy

Former U.S. President Donald Trump recently took to social media to criticise Vice President Kamala Harris, labelling her as the “weakest presidential candidate in history on crime.”

In a series of statements on X, Trump expressed his strong disapproval of Harris’ potential candidacy for the presidency, highlighting her past performance and policies.

Trump began by attacking Harris’ record on crime, stating, “Kamala Harris is the weakest presidential candidate in history on crime. She’s allowed millions of people to pour through our borders, many from prisons, mental institutions, and indeed, terrorists, coming in at levels never seen before.”

Trump’s comments reflect his ongoing focus on immigration and border security, issues he has consistently prioritised during his political career.

Criticism of Harris’ Immigration Policies

The former president further criticised Harris for what he perceived as her lenient stance on immigration.

He suggested that her policies have contributed to an influx of dangerous individuals into the country. “What gives her the right to run for President?” Trump questioned, implying that Harris’ approach to border control disqualifies her from holding the nation’s highest office.

His remarks also touched on Harris’ performance in the 2020 Democratic primary race. “She got no votes to Biden’s 14 million,” Trump pointed out, referencing her early exit from the primary race. Harris was among the first to drop out of the crowded Democratic field, which Trump used to question her viability as a presidential candidate.

“Threat to Democracy”

The former president didn’t stop at questioning Harris’ qualifications. He went on to describe her potential candidacy as a “threat to democracy,” arguing that her previous failures should prevent her from seeking the presidency.

“She failed in her previous attempt, was the first one out of 22 people to quit, never made it to Iowa, and now she’s a presidential candidate?” Trump asked rhetorically, casting doubt on Harris’ ability to succeed in a national election.

Trump’s Continued Influence

Trump’s statements underscore his continued influence in Republican circles and his active role in shaping the narrative around potential 2024 Democratic candidates.

By targeting Harris, Trump may be seeking to energise his base and further polarise the political landscape ahead of the next election cycle.
