Sudan Coup: Nigeria Condemns Action; Demands Release of Prime Minister, Political Prisoners

The Nigerian government on Monday through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have expressed dismay over the Coup d’ etat that took place Monday in Sudan, reports Prime Business Africa.

According to a release made available to out publication, the Foreign Ministry are demanding for the immediate restoration of the transitional government, the release of the Prime Minister and other political prisoners captured by the militia.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria strongly condemns the Coup d’ etat that has taken place today in Sudan in which the military has dissolved the civilian component of the transitional government and arrested its leaders,” the press release stated in part.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls for the immediate release of the Prime Minister and all political prisoners and the restoration of the transitional government and implementation of of the agreed road map to return the country to constitutional democracy, “the release signed by the Spokesperson of the of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Monday.
The Sudanese transitional government established 11 April 2019 had signed a peace agreement to end the rising conflicts in the war torn nation.
