While underscoring the importance of active alumni relations in every higher institution, Ewurum called on the VC to consistently collaborate with the alumni in order to continue reaping from their generous contributions to the university.

He also charged the university management to work assiduously in improving teaching and learning to maintain the institution’s image as a leading light in knowledge repository.

While presenting the gift, President of the group, Chuka Dozie Chukwuanu said the gesture is not just to donate the tablet but to trigger others to follow suit in seeking ways to intervene and help the university in providing for its infrastructural needs to boost teaching and learning.

He promised the availability of the group to provide assistance to the university anytime they are called upon.

Dean Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the university, Prof Kenneth Chibuzor Ofokansi, thanked the class of 85 for the gift to the faculty.

He said the faculty had also received a similar donation of tablet press last week by another group, coupled with other donations by various alumni groups.

The tablet press is a machine used in the pharmaceutical industry to compress compound substances in powdered form to produce drug tablets of uniform sizes and weights.
