It was a different stroke for Nigeria’s duo of Kanyinsola Ajayi and Favour Ogene Ashe, in the men’s 100m heat, en-route the semifinals of the men’s 100m on Saturday.
While Ajayi who competed in the lane two in heat 5 won his heat to zoom into the semifinal, same was not the case for Favour Ogene Ashe, who finished 4th in his own heat with a time of 10.16 seconds.

Ashe, popularly called F.O.T, thus crashed out of the event, as Ajayi progresses in the hope that he can effectively compete in the semis where top sprinters including reigning Olympic champion, Marcell Jacobs, of Italy who finished behind Ajayi in the heat will meet.
Ajayi ran his season’s best and new personal best of 10.00 secs at the end of the Olympics automatic qualifying window to win the men’s 100m at the Luzern Athletics Meet in Switzerland in July.
