Chelsea Bans Further Loan Deals For Lukaku, Eye £97.5m Revenue

Chelsea have placed a ban on further loan deals for Belgium international, Romelu Lukaku, for good.

The Stamford Bridge landlords, are eager to recoup some or full £97.5 million they paid Inter Milan for him in 2021. The club believes outright sale of Lukaku, will fetch a better deal and also get his £325,000-a-week wages off their books.

Roma are interested in re-signing Lukaku, who spent last season on loan at the Serie A club, but are unable to meet the asking price. AC Milan and Napoli, who have just appointed Lukaku’s former manager, Antonio Conte, are also reportedly interested.

Last year, Chelsea accepted a $54 million bid from Saudi Arabian club, Al-Hilal, for Lukaku but former Inter Milan and Manchester United forward, rejected the move.

Lukaku scored 13 goals in 32 games for Roma last season under former coach Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho, who was recently unveiled as Fenerbahce coach, has a soft spot for Lukaku and there are strong indications he might convince the club to look the way of Lukaku, ahead of the next season.

Lukaku is among top players, expected to battle for the Golden Boot of this year’s Euro Championship, which gets underway on 14th June in Germany.
