Members of staff and alumni of the Department of Mass Communication University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), today paid a courtesy visit to the University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Charles Igwe after the international conference and Jackson Annual Lecture Series organised by the department.

The event which started on Wednesday, 17 April with the Jackson Annual Lecture Series, continued today with keynote presentation and conference plenary.

The theme of the conference was “Artificial Intelligence, Communication, and Knowledge Economy in the 21st Century.”

On the delegation during the visit to the vice chancellor’s office were Prof. Joseph Wogu, Head of Department, Mass Communication, UNN; Prof. Michael Ukonu, Chairman, Local Organising Committee for the conference; Dr. Marcel Mbamalu, CEO of Newstide Publications Limited, Publishers of Prime Business Africa, who is also an alumnus of the department and the lead paper presenter during the conference Prof. Umaru Pate, Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Kashere, Gombe State, who was the keynote speaker. Other members of staff of the department were Prof. Chinwe Okpoko, Dr Ikechukwu Ugbo, Dr. Peter Nwokolo, and Dr Celestine Gever.
