The ex-Kano governor and others are scheduled to appear in court on eight count charges bordering on alleged $413,000 bribe and the embezzlement of N1.38 billion.

A Federal High Court in Kano had previously ruled that Ganduje could not be the subject of an investigation by the Kano Public Compliance and Anti-Corruption Commission over a $5 million bribery video.

According to Justice Abdullahi Liman, the Attorney General and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have the authority to prosecute the matter, which is under federal jurisdiction.

Meanwhile, the incumbent Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, on Monday, requested the EFCC to disclose findings from its investigation into the bribery video.

The state attorney general, Haruna Dederi, acknowledged receipt of the filing and promised to serve all parties. He emphasized that the charges are not just federal matters but also state offenses.
