Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nigeria, University of Nigeria, Nsukka chapter, has inducted 50 new members into the organisation. This took place during the March business meeting of the organisation held on Sunday, March 3, 2024.
Join our WhatsApp ChannelThe theme of the Business meeting was “Building High Performance Teams for Business Success and Community Impact.” It had the National Vice President of JCI Nigeria, SS/SE District 1, JCIN Amb. Uti Inyang and the Collegiate Vice Chairperson of JCI Nigeria, SS/SE, Cajetan Iyenagbe as special guests.
Mr Iyenagbe in his speech during the meeting, advised the newly inducted members of the organisation to maximize the opportunity of their JCI engagement for personal development and networking that would help them later in life.
In his words: “JCI gives one a lot of exposure, valuable networking and makes room for growth. Therefore, you have to take your JCI Journey seriously.”
The National Vice President, Uti Inyang, congratulated the JCI-UNN President, Miss Chinalurumogu Eze, for her phenomenal leadership qualities and diligence to work even within a very short period of assuming office.
According to him, “There is no local organisation in JCI Nigeria for the moment, that the president who has just been inducted within a month is able to do an investiture for fifty new members in six weeks. JCI Nigeria is proud of her, the national president is proud of her. It is clear that there has been nothing short of excellence and I could recommend her to any team that she wants to work for. So, kudos to her and her team members, for achieving this great feat in a such a short time.”
Some of the inductees who spoke with our correspondence, expressed their delight in joining JCIN-UNN.
Samson Damian, a newly inducted member and a brand ambassador on campus expressed his delight in joining the organisation. “I feel very great to be inducted today, because I see JCI as one of the best organisations any young fellow should be part of because it is globally based and anyone looking to be a changer or forerunner in the changing world should be part of an organisation as JCI,” he stated.
Another new inductee, a 300-level student of Computer Engineering, Mr. Victor Agbo, said one of his driving forces for joining JCIN-UNN was to get exposure, build connections and also to develop himself further.
Miss. Sandra Adaugo, a 300-level student of Pure and Industrial Chemistry added that she intends to hone her leadership skills, get exposure and network with people.
Miss Eze, the Local Organisation’s President, had during her investiture promised to induct 200 new members to the organisation before handing over to the next administration and has started with 50. She expressed delight in tbe turn out adding that she is motivated to do more. “This is just the beginning. Hold our cup. We’re coming,” she further stated.
