Tinubu Returns To Abuja After Attending AU Meeting In Addis Ababa Ethiopia

Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja after a four-day official trip to Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, where he took part in the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union.

Senior government officials, led by Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), met the president when his official aircraft, Nigeria Air Force 1, landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Monday afternoon.

Honorable Femi Gbajabiamila, the president’s chief of staff, Senator Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo State, Bello Matawalle, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Nuhu Ribadu, the national security adviser, were among the other high-ranking government officials present at the airport to receive the president.

Others were the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun; Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Bichi; and other security chiefs.

During the summit, President Tinubu was appointed by the AU as its Champion for Human Resources for Health and Community Health Delivery Partnership.

While addressing the Assembly on Saturday, Tinubu informed them that Nigeria is ready to host the African Central Bank on its soil, in accordance with an earlier agreement in the Abuja Treaty.
