Nicki Minaj Mistakenly Announced As Winner For Best Rap Song

On Sunday night, the official Twitter handle of the Recording Academy sparked a mild drama on social media by mistakenly declaring ‘Barbie World’ by Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice as the winner of the Best Rap Song category.

This announcement sent waves of excitement through Nicki Minaj’s fanbase, marking what could have been a historic Grammy win for the artist with over two decades in the industry.

However, the celebration was short-lived as the organizers swiftly deleted the tweet and issued a correction, revealing that Killer Mike’s ‘Scientists & Engineers’ was the rightful winner.

This blunder triggered a backlash from Nicki Minaj’s fans, who deemed it “disrespectful” to the artist. On a brighter note, American diva SZA secured her first-ever Grammy with the collaboration ‘Ghost In The Machine’ alongside Phoebe Bridgers, winning the Pop Duo/Group Performance category.

Expressing her joy on social media, SZA thanked Phoebe Bridgers and the Recording Academy, expressing gratitude to the producers behind the record.

In other news, the Nigerian singer Burna Boy, featuring 21 Savage in ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World,’ lost the Best Melodic Rap Performance award to ‘All My Life’ by Lil Durk featuring J.Cole. The Grammy Awards once again proved to be a night of both triumphs and unexpected twists for the music industry’s finest talents.
