Oshoala, Nnadozie Make CAF List For Women’s Awards

Nigerians commend Asisat Oshoala after winning th CAF award x

Super Falcons stars Asisat Oshoala and Chiamaka Nnadozie have made the 10-woman shortlist for the 2023 Africa Women’s Footballer of the Year award released on Monday evening.

Oshoala, current holder, is in contention for her sixth CAF award while Nnadozie, whose blistering performances at the 2023 World Cup and Women’s Champions League saw the Falcons reach the Round of 16 and also helped her team, Paris FC reach the UEFA Women’s Champions League Group Stage, is gunning for the award for the first time.

Other nominees include three Moroccan players, three South Africa players, one each of Zambia and Cameroon players.

Oshoala won the award in 2014, 3016, 2017, 2019 and 2022 making her the first player to win the award a record five times

CAF will announce the winner of the prestigious individual accolade during her 2023 Awards Gala scheduled for 11 December 2023 in Marrakech, Morocco.
