The United States Government, in collaboration with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission in Nigeria, and with the support of the U.S. Prosper Africa and Power Africa initiatives, is gearing up to introduce American investors to the vast landscape of investment opportunities in Nigeria.

Scheduled to hold from October 9 to 13, this roadshow aims at bridging the gap between U.S. and Nigerian investors, with 12 influential executives overseeing more than $1 trillion in assets participating.

According to a statement from the United States Diplomatic Mission to Nigeria, the focus of the trip is to promote awareness of Nigeria’s investment potential, particularly in infrastructure, and to establish strong connections between U.S. investors, African counterparts, and fund managers.

The U.S. Consul General to Lagos, Will Stevens, emphasized the trip’s broader objective, stating, “Beyond advancing specific investment opportunities, this trip is about building enduring trade and investment relationships between America and our Nigerian partners.”

Nigeria, touted as Africa’s largest economy with a GDP of $477 billion in 2022, has attracted attention from U.S. investors. A research report from Goldman Sachs even predicts Nigeria could be one of the world’s top five economies by 2075.

This initiative aligns with the economic reforms led by the Tinubu administration, showcasing an outlook for economic cooperation between the United States and Nigeria.
