We’ll Obey Govt, Conduct Elections Within 90 Days – ASPAMDA

AUTO Spare Parts and Machinery Dealers’ Association (ASPAMDA), Caretaker Committee has pledged to obey the Lagos State Government’s directive to conduct elections within the market in 90 days.

Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of ASPAMDA,  Sir Sunny Igboanuzue, at a general meeting of the association, said  the proposed election would be credible, free, fair and peaceful.

Igboanuzue said the current leadership of the association had empowered more than 400 youths, bought transformers, drilled boreholes, improved telecommunication networks, and rehabilitated some road networks, among other achievements.

He enjoined the traders to be peaceful and law-abiding since the main purpose was to do business and not to play politics.

“From the large turnout for this general meeting, everybody can see that there is peace in ASPMDA. Within the few months that we have been in office, we have achieved peace, progress, and development,” he said.

In his contributions, the chairman of the board of trustees, Chief Daniel Oforkansi, said the chairman of the caretaker committee and members of his team were committed to conducting elections as was directed by the Lagos State Government.

He also called for the amendment of the association’s constitution.
