Zelenskyy in a video addressed to the nation says, “In particular, more than 60 employees of the prosecutor’s office and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) remained in the occupied territory and are working against our state.”

He continued, ‘’such an array of crimes against the foundation of national security of the state and the connections recorded between the employees of the security forces of Ukraine and the special services of Russia raise very serious questions for the relevant leaders”

“Each of these questions will receive a proper answer. Today, I have decided to remove the Prosecutor-General from office and to remove the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine,’’ he decreed.

Amongst those dismissed by the president were Iryna Venediktova the Prosecutor-General who was replaced by her deputy Olesksiy Symonenko, and Ivan Bakanov, the head of the SBU with some other employees.
