Two Persons Offer To Donate Kidney To Save Sonia Ekweremadu

Following the public appeal by Sonia, the daughter of Senator Ike Ekweremadu, for any willing individual to donate kidney to save her life, two persons have offered to do so.

The 25-year-old Sonia Ekweremadu who has been battling with renal complications, made the appeal through her Instagram page on Monday, to members of the public in order to save her life.

In response, a 32-year-old Obasi Emmanuel Onyekachim who hails from Enugu Nigeria, has offered to donate one of his kidney for her.

Emmanuel said he was ready to offer one of his kidneys to Ekweremadu if none of her family members could do that.

Emmanuel also said he is donating for free, praying that his kidney should match Sonia’s.

The mail read “Good evening Sonia, my names are Obasi Emmanuel Onyekachim from Mmaku kingdom in Awgu local government area council of Enugu State. I am 32 years old and based in Lagos.

“Please I want to donate one of my kidneys do you.”

He also dropped both his mobile and whatsapp numbers to reach him with.

Meanwhile, a person, you lady who identified herself as Annastasia Michael also offered to donate one of her kidneys to save Sonia’s life.

In an open letter that circulated on social media, Ms Anastasia said she was ready to make that sacrifice, noting that as a woman, she wants to prove that women can help one another.

She also indicated that she had sent a mail to the email address provided by Sonia for any willing donor to reach her.

She also prayed that it matches.

The post titeld “Kidney donation To Sonia Ekweremadu,” read “I (Annastasia Michael olamma) want to donate one of my Kidney to sonia Ekweremadu to save her life. I have made up my mind to do this to prove women can help women.

“If any of her relatives mum, dad, siblings, cannot give out their kidney to save their Bloodline then i will donate my own to save Sonia And i demand nothing in return. I pray it matches with her own.

“Am 24 years old, I don’t take alcohol and I believe my kidney is very healthy to donate.

“I have sent message to her email @helpsonialive@gmail.com and anticipate for her reply.”
