Transcorp, Nigerian Breweries, Others Lift Stock Market Cap By N102.38 billion

Nigeria’s equity market valuation grew by 0.36 per cent on Tuesday to end the stock exchange session at N28.54 trillion. This is N102.38 billion above Monday’s N28.44 trillion.

The increase was reflected in the All-Share Index, which gained 188.04 basis points, rising from 52,231.29 ASI to 52,419.33 ASI.

At the end of today’s trading, 576.85 million shares exchanged investors’ hands in 6,143 deals on Tuesday, worth N6.78 billion.

Trading during the previous session closed with 626.38 million shares exchanged in 6,033 deals, valued at N5.59 billion, on Monday.

Top five gainers 

  • Nigerian Breweries’ share appreciated by N3.20kobo to rise from N32.10kobo to N35.30kobo per share.         
  • FTN Cocoa grew by 9.68 per cent, up from N0.31kobo to N0.34kobo per share.         
  • Sovereign Insurance ended trading with N0.46kobo from N0.42kobo per share, rising by 9.52 per cent.       
  • Cornerstone gained 8.82 per cent to end trading at N0.74kobo, having opened with N0.68kobo per share.         
  • Transcorp’s stock was up by N0.22kobo, closing at N3.06 from N2.84kobo per share.           

Top five losers 

  • CWG depreciated by N0.18kobo, dwindling from N1.87kobo to N1.69kobo per share.            
  • Courtville also fell by 6.52 per cent to end trading at N0.43kobo, after opening at N0.46kobo per share.            
  • Ardova followed the same path, losing N1.60kobo after trading hours, to sell at N24.80kobo from N26.40kobo per share.            
  • Glaxo Smith reported a decline of N0.30kobo from the previous day’s share price of N6.80kobo to end trading at N6.50kobo per share.            
  • Royal Exchange share depreciated to N0.48kobo from N0.50kobo, after losing 4 per cent during trading hours. 

Top five trading equities in the stock exchange

  • UBA reported 94.30 million shares, valued at N795.90 million, were traded on its floor.          
  • Transcorp recorded 86.42 million shares valued at N261.67 million.           
  • Access Corporation saw investors trade 62.42 million of its shares valued at N635.67 million. 
  • Zenith Bank recorded 57.38 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N1.40 billion.            
  • FBN Holdings reported 47.43 million shares, valued at N571.49 million, exchanged investors’ hands.
