Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who left the country on January 28, has returned to Lagos after10 days in London on what sources close to the All Progressives Congress (APC)  leader  said was a campaign and consultation trip.

It was gathered that Mr Tinubu arrived at the private wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Sunday afternoon joined by his aides, including Tunde Rahman.

There were speculations regarding the actual reason for his sudden trip three weeks after declaring intention to run for president in 2023.

While some believe that Mr Tinubu could have left hurriedly on health grounds, subsequent statements and clarification from his camp said the APC leader was in London strictly for political consultation and strategy.

Following concerns over his health, Mr Tinubu has continued to stress that he remains fit and strong for the 2021 presidency contest.
