President Tinubu has congratulated Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as governor of Anambra State, describing the outcome as a firm endorsement of his leadership and reforms over the past four years.
In a statement issued from the State House on Sunday, President Tinubu said Soludo’s sweeping victory in the November 8 poll “is a testament to his visionary leadership and the significant progress the state has made under his guidance.”
INEC declared Soludo winner after he secured 422,664 votes, defeating his closest challenger, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the APC, who scored 99,445 votes, according to official figures.

Election observers, including Yiaga Africa, confirmed that the official results were consistent with independently verified estimates, underscoring the credibility of the poll. Registered voters for the election stood at 2.79 million, with 598,229 accredited voters and 584,054 valid votes cast.
Tinubu also commended the people of Anambra State, security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for what he called a peaceful and successful election. He praised the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, for conducting a process that “observers have described as credible,” urging the commission to sustain and improve its standards.
Reflecting on his visit to Anambra in May, during which he inaugurated several Soludo-executed projects, the President said the governor had brought “discipline, grace, brilliance, and a fresh perspective to governance,” adding that the state was living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation.
He encouraged Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and seek cooperation from his opponents in the just-concluded poll. Tinubu further assured him of the Federal Government’s support and expressed optimism about continued collaboration between Abuja and Awka.
“The victory of the opposition All Grand Progressives Alliance in the election again demonstrates the vitality of our political system and the fact that victory for any progressive and hardworking leader can hardly be encumbered or denied,” Tinubu stated.
Soludo’s re-election marks the third time in Anambra’s political history that an incumbent governor has secured a second term.
