Announcing the intervention, Nwachuku said winners in both the senior and junior categories would also receive summer internship placements at Terra Industries, describing education and enlightenment as the foundation of every thriving civilisation.
“Excited to support the 2027 SE Maths Olympiad. All winners in senior and junior categories will be given summer internship spots at Terra Industries. Every great civilization is built on enlightenment,” he stated.
According to organisers, the expanded prize structure will see top senior category winners receive N10 million alongside internship opportunities, while junior category winners will earn N5 million. Primary school participants are expected to share N3 million in prizes.
The initiative, which is free for students across Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states, has already recorded over 10,000 registrations ahead of the competition.

The South-East Maths Olympiad gained national attention after its previous edition produced standout performances from students across the region, with Imo State emerging as one of the strongest-performing states.
Among the celebrated winners was Don-Anele Marvelous Munachimso, who received N5 million and an educational trip to Rome following his exceptional performance.
Onyia said the vision for the 2027 edition goes beyond competition, noting that organisers hope to scale participation to 150,000 students as part of a broader effort to transform the South-East into a leading hub for STEM education and innovation in Nigeria.
Education stakeholders have increasingly pointed to initiatives such as the Olympiad as evidence of growing private-sector involvement in academic development, especially in mathematics, science and technology-focused learning.
