The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) began a two-day scheduled maintenance exercise at its Sagamu Transmission Substation on Thursday, disrupting electricity supply to some communities and customers in Ogun State, Prime Business Africa reports.
TCN said the annual preventive maintenance involves two 30MVA, 132/33kV power transformers and will run for seven hours each day, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 3 and 4.

The company said its maintenance crew was carrying out routine checks on the T1 and T2 transformers to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Thursday’s work affected the ability of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) to off-take electricity from the T1 transformer for distribution to customers in REAL and Sagamu.
Customers supplied through the T2 transformer, including CEPLASS, NNPC/Ogijo, Metafrique and Babcock, are expected to experience electricity interruptions on Friday during the maintenance period, TCN said.
The company said the temporary disruption was necessary to allow its crew to carry out the scheduled work and maintain the reliability of the transmission infrastructure.
TCN apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the inconvenience.
