Super Eagles winger, Samuel Kalu is due to arrive England today (Wednesday, 19 January 2022) for medicals for his reported £2.2 million transfer deal to EPL side, Watford Football Club.
The Nigerian international is close to joining Watford in the Premier League from French Ligue 1 side Bordeaux for a fee in the region of £2.5million.
According to reports, the 24-year-old shares an agent with fellow Nigerian international Oghenekaro Etebo which might help the deal go swiftly.
Kalu would be joining Watford if he passes his medical on Wednesday. He will be arriving England with 10 goals and 8 assists in 86 appearances for his current team.
Watford is enriched with Nigerian players such as defender, William Troost-Ekong; goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye; striker, Emmanuel Dennis as well as midfielder, Etebo who is on loan from Championship side, Stoke City
Disturbingly Watford may be relegated from the Premier League as they are currently in the 17th place in the log with 14 points.
Nigerian fans have not hidden their angst for Watford for refusing vehemently to release striker Emmanuel Dennis for the Africa Cup of Nations for supposedly not receiving his invitation letter on the expected timeframe.
