The Atlas Lions of Morocco are 13th in the world and the first national team in Africa.

Current AFCON champions Senegal are ranked 20th, with Tunisia (28), Algeria (30), and Egypt (33) making up the top five teams on the continent.

Nigeria’s highest rankings by FIFA came in 1994 when they were ranked both 5th and 12th by the World soccer ruling body following the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations triumph in Tunisia and the USA 94 World Cup debut respectively.

Nigeria were adjudged the best entertaining team after Brazil in USA 94.
