Bulls Charge Ahead As NGX Shatters Records As Market Cap Surpasses N50trn

The market capitalisation grew by 0.61 per cent or N173.73 billion gain on Thursday, as the value of the stock market climbed from N28.17 trillion to N28.34 trillion.

Also, the All Share Index increased in value from 51,729.87 ASI to 52,048.85 ASI, after gaining 318.98 basis points on Thursday.

Over 211.74 million shares, worth N7.72 billion were exchanged in 3,462 deals on Thursday.

During the previous trading, 281.94 million shares were traded in 3,679 deals on Wednesday, valued at N8.15 billion.

Top five gainers 

Ellah Lakes share appreciated by N0.36kobo to rise from N3.60kobo to N3.96kobo per share 

Lasaco grew by N0.10kobo, up from N1 to N1.10kobo per share 

International Breweries ended trading with N5.05 from N4.65kobo per share, rising by N0.40kobo. 

Dangote Sugar gained N1.15kobo to end trading at N17.15kobo, having opened with N16 per share. 

Sunu Assurance stock was up by 6.90 per cent, closing at N0.31kobo from N0.29kobo per share 

Top five losers 

Abbey Mortgage Bank depreciated by N0.17kobo, dwindling from N1.70kobo to N1.53kobo per share. 

Chellarams also fell by N0.16kobo to end trading at N1.48kobo, after opening with N1.64kobo per share. 

FTN Cocoa followed the same path, losing 3.57 per cent after trading hours, to sell at N0.27kobo from N0.28kobo per share.   

Nahco reported a decline of N0.25kobo from the previous day’s share price of N7.05 to end trading at N6.80kobo per share.  

Royal Exchange share depreciated to N0.98kobo from N1, after losing 2 per cent during trading hours. 

Top five trading equities in the stock exchange 

Mansard reported 26.25 million shares valued at N52.51 million were traded on its floor   

GTCO recorded 19.80 million shares valued at N476.88 million  

Chams saw investors trade 17.90 million of its shares valued at N4.44 million 

Royal Exchange recorded 14.20 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N13.37 million  

FBN Holdings reported 11.82 million shares valued at N131.37 million exchanged investors’ hands
