At a time when moralists are wailing over what they call devastating effect of Baby mama syndrome on marriages and the society, Nigerian rapper and Singer-songwriter, Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, has raised further dust saying he regrets not joining the bandwagon.

Skales revealed his hidden pain in a recent chat with Nigerian video jockey, television presenter, Adams Ibrahim Adebola, popularly known as VJ Adam.

Skales explained that his decision was influenced by his unique family situation, saying that as the last surviving member of his bloodline, he feels the pressure to have an heir to carry on his family’s legacy.

Right now I regret not having baby mamas. I really regret it. Because I’m like the only one in my bloodline alive right now. I think I am receiving applications, he said.

Raoul John Njeng-Njeng whose stage name Skales, comes from acronym “Seek Knowledge Acquire Large Entrepreneurial Skills“ boasts of many songs to his credit including collaborations  with Davido, Banky W who recently relocated to the United States with his family, Timaya and Wizkid among others

The Baby mama industry has continued to boom as most music super stars have elevated the act to the next level to the point that those who are not in the game feel left out. Some members of the society who reacted to the trend blame it on various factors including economic incentives.

The answers from random sampling suggest that the rise of “baby mamas” in society is attributed to various factors, including changing social norms, economic incentives, and personal choices. Some respondents criticize this trend, citing a lack of commitment, poor decision-making, and societal encouragement as contributing factors.

Interestingly the number of ladies who really don’t bother being Baby mamas has continued to increase.

On why ladies prefer being Baby mamas than get married, a lady who responded on condition of anonymity said: “I don’t think most baby mamas prefer being that way.

“Most of them would rather get married but it’s usually the father who doesn’t want to marry them. And most of them will never get married because most men don’t want to marry women who had a lot of s3x partners. It’s sad but this is what happens when girls are raised the wrong way.”

Recall that Skales On March 14, 2021, announced his engagement to his girlfriend on Instagram. The date interestingly in symbolic being the birthday of the girlfriend now wife. Precious Hassanity.

The ‘Shake Body’ and Break Your Back’ crooner did not however say whether he will be playing catch up amidst  regrets or remove  the idea completely from the table.
