This represents a loss of N85.64 billion in the market capitalisation, which closed trading at N27.92 trillion, below Monday’s N28.01 trillion.
The All Share Index fell to 51,803.98 from 51,962.85 ASI, after losing 158.87 basis points.
Meanwhile, investors parted with N12.84 billion to trade over 314.61 million shares in 4,708 deals on Tuesday.
However, the previous session ended with traders exchanging 266.51 million shares in 5,05 deals, worth N2.60 billion.
Top five gainers
- Sovereign Insurance gained 8 percent, after its stock price appreciated from N0.25kobo to N0.27kobo per share.
- Chams reported an uptick of 4.17 percent, as its share rose from N0.24kobo to N0.25kobo per share.
- Regal Insurance share went up by 3.85 percent, rising to N0.27kobo from N0.26kobo per share.
- Ecobank saw its share price gain N0.35kobo, increasing to N11 from N10.65kobo per share.
- Okomu Oil recorded an appreciation of N6.90kobo, after the share went from N210 to N216.90kobo per share.
Top five losers
- UPL share depreciated by N0.28kobo, dwindling from N2.88kobo to N2.60kobo per share.
- NGX Group share dropped in value by N1.65kobo, to settle at N22.95kobo from N24.60kobo per share.
- Caverton followed the same path, losing 4.76 percent after trading hours, to sell at N1 from N1.05 per share.
- Livestock reported a decline of 3.57 percent in its share, depreciating from N1.40kobo to N1.35kobo per share.
- Fidelity Bank share lost N0.12kobo from previous day’s N3.40, dropping to N3.28kobo per share.

- MTN Nigeria recorded 42.90 million shares valued at N9.86 billion.

- Zenith Bank reported that 16.08 million shares exchanged hands of investors, valued at N348.84 million.
