Real Madrid claimed a priceless 2-1 win over Barcelona Sunday at Camp Nou in the latest installment of the El Clasico and without Lionel Messi as a player of Barca.

The match arguably the biggest fixture in European football has lost some its sheen following the departure of Messi to PSG as well as Sergio Ramos who is now his teammate in Paris.

Madrid scored first after 32 minutes through David Alaba as he was teed up by Rodrygo from a fast counter attack.

Vini Junior had lost a glorious chance to put his team ahead before the eventual opener.

Madrid grabbed their second through Lucas Vazquez in the 94th minute, seemingly putting the final nail in Barcelona’s coffin. Sergio Aguero then got a consolation in the 97th minute, his first goal for Barcelona.

The icobic game was the first to welcome fans in the stands since the Coronavirus outbreak.
