As part of the trip, Obi was in Frankfurt, Germany on Friday where he met with Nigerians who warmly welcomed him.
Speaking to them, Obi stated that when elected, his government would have zero tolerance for corruption and also cut cost of governance in order to channel resources to productive ventures to strengthen the economy.

On stabilizing the country’s currency, the former Anambra State governor said that can be achieved through scaling up production to increase exports.

“We will move our country robustly from consumption to production, and especially with strong support from exportation of Nigerian manufactured goods and commodities.
“We will aggressively pursue human capital development in the education and health sectors with a view of meeting global funding targets and best practices.

“Somebody asked me what are we going to do to stabilize the naira and I said it is very simple; production, because the more you produce goods and export, the more your currency becomes stronger, if you are looking for dollars and Euro, just go and sell something to somebody that has euro and dollar and your currency will become strong, Obi stated.

He also assured that Africa will remain the centrepiece of Nigeria’s foreign policy as it will improve the diplomatic sphere of influence via peacekeeping, trade, and investment initiatives.
On diaspora engagement, Obi promised to provide the opportunity for diaspora Nigerians to vote in the 2027 elections if elected president next year.

“We will continue to engage the Nigerian Diaspora in ways that is mutually beneficial. By 2027 election, Nigerian Diaspora must have a voice via absentee ballots.”

“Somebody asked me a question about going to look for foreign investors, I said Nigerians outside are going to do what China and India did.

“It is good for us to go back and fix our place, we need to secure it and it is important for our place to have proper leadership that is visionary, there is nothing happening in other countries that are rocket science, a country is measured by its productive capacity.
