Serie B side Parma on Monday completed the signing of Nigeria international Simy Nwankwo from Salernitana on a six-month loan deal with an option to buy.
The Italian club announced the transfer deadline signing on their social media pages and website as they hope to gain promotion to the Serie A.
“Cos we have Super Simy Nwankwo” the club’s official Twitter account teased the supporters to announce the latest acquisition.
The Super Eagles striker who has not featured for the Nigerian national team since the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia netted 20 league goals in the 2019/2020 Serie B season, which helped Crotone gain promotion to the top-flight.
The beanpole forward was at his scoring best last season as well as he become Nigeria’s all-time top scorer in Italy’s top division.
However Simy’s goals were not enough to save Crotone from relegation, who then loaned him out to the newly-promoted Salernitana where he had scored one goal in 19 league games.
