The construction of a legacy civic centre at Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos began last year by the Ojoto Development Town Union (ODTU) Lagos branch has continued to advance courtesy of the members’ active response says the chairman, Chief Alexander Okwudili Agwuna.

Agwuna, in a chat with Prime Business Africa at the building site during the association’s end of year party on Sunday, December 10, 2023, said that even with the changes in budget due to high cost of things now, the members have continued to make donations that have seen the building project almost reaching the stage to deck the first floor.

“The building project is moving by the grace of God, and I know that next year will be better than this year. By next year, I know that we are going to start from decking,” Agwuna stated.

“Our members are responding, that’s why we are moving forward as you can see now. Last year we hadn’t feeled the foundation but now, I think that we have made a plus; our members are really trying.”

He disclosed that they have so far spent not less than N19 million on the project and are optimistic that with the current level of support from members they would finish the project in no distant time.
