Obaseki, Namibian Ambassador Praise Esama of Benin’s Impact On Nigeria, Africa

In a heartfelt meeting at the Government House in Benin City, Edo State, Governor Godwin Obaseki and Namibian Ambassador Humphrey Geiseb expressed their admiration for the Esama of Benin Kingdom, Chief Dr. Osawaru Gabriel Igbinedion, lauding his profound contributions to Nigeria and the African continent.

Governor Obaseki, while receiving Ambassador Geiseb and his wife, Lena, extended his gratitude, stating, “We thank you and your beautiful wife for honoring our illustrious son, the Esama of Benin Kingdom, on the occasion of his 89th birthday celebration. We appreciate you and acknowledge that personalities like Chief Igbinedion can drive our diplomacy, which is beneficial for our continent and country.”

He also added, “We pray God gives him good health and a long life, and next year, as we celebrate his 90th birthday, you will be here to celebrate with him.”

Ambassador Geiseb reciprocated the warm sentiments by commending Governor Obaseki for fostering a business-friendly environment in the state, emphasizing the potential for collaboration between Namibia and Edo State to spur growth and development in both regions.

“We are looking forward to returning again and again, given that there is more connectivity between Abuja and Benin City,” Geiseb remarked.

He also shared the purpose of their visit, stating that it aimed to strengthen the relationship between Edo State and Namibia, exchange ideas on investment opportunities, and participate in the 89th birthday celebration of the distinguished Esama of Benin Kingdom, Gabriel Igbinedion.
