Oando Leads Stock Market Gainers’ List, Meyer Among Losers

The stock market capitalisation increased by N223.38 billion on Wednesday, June 4, after the all-share index (ASI) appreciated by 0.31 per cent.

According to trading data released by the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), the bourse’s capitalisation increased to N71.11 trillion from N70.89 trillion recorded on Tuesday, June 3.

Also, the all-share index expanded by 354.25 basis points from 112,427.48 ASI to 112,781.73 ASI.

On the trading floor, over 611.52 million shares were exchanged in 13,682 deals, worth N16.68 billion, against the previous day’s 622.63 million traded in 17,044 deals, valued at N16.12 billion.

Top five gainers

  • Oando’s share price increased by N4.70 kobo to rise from N47 to N51.70 kobo per share.
  • UHOMREIT’s share value grew by N4.55 kobo, from N45.70 kobo to N50.25 kobo per share.
  • Royal Exchange ended trading at N0.88 kobo per share, from N0.81 kobo per share – indicating an increase of 8.64 per cent.
  • Legend Internet gained N0.40 kobo to end trading at N5.90 kobo, having opened with N5.50 kobo.
  • Lasaco’s share value was up by N0.20 kobo, after closing at N3.20 kobo from N3 per share.

Top five losers

  • NCR’s share price depreciated by N0.65 kobo, dwindling from N6.57 kobo to N5.92 kobo per share.
  • Associated Bus Company recorded a N0.29 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N2.66 kobo after opening with N2.95 kobo per share.
  • Meyer lost N0.90 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N8.45 kobo from N9.35 kobo per share.
  • Academy reported a decline of N0.48 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N5.01 to end trading at N4.53 kobo per share.
  • Livestock recorded a N0.65 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N8.95 kobo after opening with N9.60 kobo per share.

  • Fidelity Bank reported that 93.46 million shares valued at N1.77 billion were traded on its floor.
  • GTCO recorded 87.20 million shares valued at N5.95 billion.
  • Royal Exchange saw investors trade 73.07 million of its shares valued at N64.92 million.
  • UBA recorded 57.11 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N1.97 billion.
  • Access Corporation reported 38.75 million shares valued at N854.58 million exchanged in investors’ hands.
