NPFL Draws: Enyimba, Bendel Insurance Clash Headlines Opening 2023/2024 Season

The draws for the opening matches of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League, the NPFL was held on Tuesday evening with some titanic battles scheduled to hold on the opening week of the season.

The 2023/2024 campaign will kick off September 9 after it was moved from August 26.

The NPFL draws was held following the Annual General Meeting of the NPFL Club owners in Abuja.

Record champions and current title holders, Enyimba, still reeling from their exit in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, will be at home against Bendel Insurance of Benin in the second weekend of September.

Runners-up, Remo Stars will be away to the third-positioned Rivers United at the same weekend.

For Sunshine Stars of Akure, the battle begins at home against Premier league returnee, Kano Pillars.

Sunshine stars finished fourth at the League’s play-off two months ago.

Shooting Stars craving for their first title in 25 years will be at home against Plateau United on the opening day.
