Nigerian Stock Market Records N19.84bn Share Transactions, Equity Cap Falls

Nigerian bourse fell by N7.50 billion or 0.02 per cent in value to N30.38 trillion after Monday’s session, slightly from Friday’s N30.39 trillion market capitalisation.

The All-Share Index depreciated by 13.79 basis points from 55,820.5 ASI to 55,806.71 ASI. 

On the exchange floor, investors traded N19.84 billion in 7,221 deals for 369.77 million shares on Monday.

They upped the level of their investment from Friday’s N6.11 billion, which was traded for 455.76 million shares in 7,457 deals.

Top five gainers

  • Omatek’s share appreciated by 10 per cent to rise from N0.20 kobo to N0.22 kobo per share. 
  • NEM grew by N0.50 kobo, up from N5 to N5.50 kobo per share. 
  • Conoil ended trading at N76.85 kobo from N69.90 kobo per share, rising by N6.95 kobo. 
  • MRS gained N4.90 kobo to end trading at N54.20 kobo, having opened with N49.30 kobo per share. 
  • Eterna stock was up by N0.90 kobo, closing at N10.15 kobo from N9.25 kobo per share. 

Top five losers 

  • John Holt depreciated by N0.19 kobo, dwindling from N1.91 kobo to N1.72 kobo per share. 
  • Courtville also fell by 9.80 per cent to end trading at N0.46 kobo, after opening at N0.51 kobo per share. 
  • Chams followed the same path, losing 9.76 per cent after trading hours, to sell at N0.37 kobo from N0.41 kobo per share. 
  • Wapic reported a decline of 8.70 per cent from the previous day’s share price of N0.46 kobo to end trading at N0.42 kobo per share. 
  • Academy’s share depreciated to N1.75 kobo from N1.90 kobo, after losing N0.15 kobo during trading hours. 

Top five trading equities in the stock exchange 

  • Geregu Power reported 52.49 million shares, valued at N16.36 billion, were traded on its floor. 
  • NPF Microfinance recorded 50.02 million shares valued at N90.04 million. 
  • Access Corporation saw investors trade 46.23 million of its shares valued at N573.55 million. 
  • Zenith Bank recorded 28.74 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N800.61 million. 
  • UBA reported 16.24 million shares, valued at N151.74 million, exchanged investors’ hands.
