Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has said that Nigeria needs a reformative leadership.

Obi who made this assertion in a thread of tweets on Sunday, 13th November 2022, said the “desire to take back Nigeria was nearly unanimous.”

“We may be used to the old order, but we cannot vote for continuity of corruption, recklessness, impunity and poverty. Deprivation is not habit forming. Nigerians desire a better life,” he said.

Obi explained the damage successive bad leadership has done to the psyche of Nigerians and declared that “Nigeria is badly in need of a reformative leadership.” “Bad leadership has hurt us deeply, damaged our psyche and diminished our potentials and dreams,” he added.

While alluding to the fact that he is used to the old order, Obi said he desired to be president to change the trajectory.

“We can no longer gamble with our fate and future. I’m running for President because, I am qualified, I have the capacity, credibility, commitment, stamina, governance experience, and track record. More importantly, Nigerians can trust me”

Obi noted that Nigeria working today is only for a minority of people .“There is Nigeria; But there are no Nigerians. Currently, Nigeria works for minority of people; Nigeria must work for all Nigerians. Nigerians must be able to dwell securely and in safety wherever they live. This is the first duty of government.”

Recall that the Labour Party presidential candidate and his party recently launched the 2023 campaign in Nasarawa State and then subsequently moved to other states like Benue, Edo, etc.

The Labour Party presidential campaign trail was in Edo State on Friday where the party leaders and candidates received a large turnout of supporters.

After the Edo rally Obi had tweeted, “What an awesome and OBIdient crowd in Benin. I am deeply humbled by Edo people’s show of love and support.”

While in the Benin-City, Obi visited the Oba of Benin and also met with popular cleric, Apostle Johnson Suleman.
