The market capitalisation of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) increased by N3.54 trillion to N155.69 trillion on Thursday.

On Wednesday, the market capitalisation had closed at N152.14 trillion.

Also, the all-share index (ASI) increased by 5,512.11 basis points from 236,303.21 ASI to 241,815.32 ASI.

Investors on the NGX exchanged 805,70 million shares in 79,615 deals, valued at N45,45 billion, compared to the previous day’s 1.08 billion shares exchanged in 74,660 deals, worth N55.72 billion.

Top five gainers

  • Zichis’ share price increased by N1.98 kobo, from N19.80 kobo to N21.78 kobo per share.
  • Seplat’s share value grew by N1,045, from N10,450 to N11,495 per share.
  • BUA Cement’s share appreciated by N38 to end trading at N418, having opened with N380.
  • Chemical and Allied Products’ share ended trading at N145.20 kobo per share, from N132 per share – indicating an increase of N13.20 kobo.
  • FTN Cocoa’s share value was up by N0.50 kobo, after closing at N5.50 kobo from N5 per share.

Top five losers

  • ALEX share price depreciated by N1.05 dwindling from N10.55 kobo to N9.50 kobo per share.
  • Austin Laz recorded a N0.34 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N3.39 kobo after opening with N3.73 kobo per share.
  • Royal Exchange recorded a N0.12 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N1.39 kobo after opening with N1.51 kobo per share.
  • Wapic lost N0.21 kobo in its share price, to sell at N2.47 kobo from N2.68 kobo per share.
  • Neimeth reported a decline of N0.65 kobo from the previous share price of N8.95 kobo to end trading at N8.30 kobo per share.

Top five trading equities

  • Access Holdings reported that 89.66 million shares valued at N2.32 billion were traded on its floor.
  • Lasaco recorded 77.33 million shares valued at N149.77 million.
  • Wema Bank saw investors trade 65.89 million of its shares valued at N2.32 billion.
  • UBA recorded 63.37 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N2.75 billion.
  • Zenith Bank reported that traders exchanged 28.87 million shares valued at N3.68 billion.
