Prime Business Africa in an exclusive Featured article on April 3 recommended three coaches for the national team which former Barcelona manager, Vervalde, who was in charge of the Spanish giants when the trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez held the football world spellbound was one of them.

The Blaugrana’s attack was  then christened ‘the MSN.’

The other two were Carlos Queiroz who failed to lead Egypt to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and had stepped down from his job as well as former Italy legend Andrea Pirlo who is the current Juventus U-23 head coach.

Interestingly, Jose Peseiro the coach who was widely expected to take over from Gernot Rohr before the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon might still be in the running going by the disclosure of the NFF boss, Amaju Pinnick.

The Nigeria Football Federation met on Friday to discuss the identities of the nominees for the job and the man for the job could be unveiled by next Monday, April 18, after negotiations with all parties.

All the coaches being considered by the NFF are free agents (currently without coaching jobs) meaning that the Federation would not need to pay compensation packages to any current employers.

Conceicao led hosts Cameroon to third place finish at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations while Blanc and Cocu were in charge of PSG, France as well as the Dutch national team respectively.
