With the match being the last home game before Remembrance Sunday, Goodison observed the traditional laying of poppy wreaths, a bugler playing The Last Post and a silence for those that gave their lives in conflict down the years.

Everton managed to achieve a goalless draw away at the Craven Cottage against Fulham last weekend while Brendan Rodgers’ side fell to a 1-0 defeat to Pep Guardiola’a men, Manchester City.

The game marked the 174th league appearance for Nigeria’s Wilfred Ndidi who returned from his hamstring injury after missing last weekend’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester City as he sat out the game on the bench.

Kelechi Iheanacho was an unused substitute for the Foxes in Saturday’s home win.

Belgian international Youri Tielemans scored what could potentially be the goal of the season with an unstoppable piledrive from the edge of the box after a brilliant control with his thigh just brftoe the halftime break.

Rodgers’ named his starting line-up as follows: Ward, Castagne, Amartey, Faes, Justin, Soumare, Maddison, Tielemans (c), Dewsbury-Hall, Barnes and Daka.

Ndidi then rose from the bench and replaced Boubakary Soumare in the 70th minute.

England’s Harvey Barnes found the net after he teed up by the impressive Maddison who won the Man of the Match prize.

Ndidi blocked a goal-bound shot from Alex Iwobi who created some goal scoring chances for Everton and was handy to help with defensive duties.

The clean sheet on Saturday was the fourth in five league matches for Leicester City who will be hoping to finish at least in the top half of the Premier League table before the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
