NBCUniversal and Google have sealed a multi-year distribution agreement that keeps NBC programming on YouTube TV and revives the NBC Sports Network (NBCSN), ending weeks of uncertainty for the streaming pay-TV service’s more than eight million subscribers.
The deal, announced on Thursday, October 2, ensures continued carriage of NBCUniversal’s full portfolio of broadcast and cable channels including NBC, Telemundo, Bravo, CNBC, Golf Channel, MSNBC, USA Network, Syfy, E!, Oxygen True Crime, and Universo – on YouTube TV through at least 2030. Universal Pictures Home Entertainment titles will also remain available for purchase or rental on YouTube and Google TV.
Neither NBCUniversal nor Google disclosed the financial terms of the agreement.

A last-minute short-term extension kept channels live while talks continued. “This long-term deal reflects how we’re evolving with consumers to deliver our content wherever they choose to watch,” NBCUniversal said. Google called the arrangement an expansion of their “longstanding partnership.”

A centerpiece of the agreement is the relaunch of NBCSN, which NBC shut down in 2021. The revived channel is expected to debut later this fall on YouTube TV, airing NBA preseason games, up to 100 NHL matches, and English Premier League soccer, among other live sports.
The move restores a dedicated sports network to NBC’s linear lineup, complementing properties already broadcast on NBC and streamed on Peacock.
Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming platform, will also gain greater visibility under the deal. It will launch on YouTube’s Primetime Channels in the coming months, making it easier for subscribers to add the service directly within YouTube. The integration will extend Peacock’s reach across Android and Google TV devices.
The arrangement also ensures NBCUniversal clips, highlights, and library content remain available on YouTube, while feature films and TV shows from Universal Pictures continue to be distributed across Google’s platforms.
For subscribers, the agreement secures uninterrupted access to flagship NBC programming such as Sunday Night Football, Saturday Night Live, and hit dramas, while adding fresh sports coverage through NBCSN.
For the industry, analysts see the pact as a signal of a hybrid strategy: preserving a strong linear presence while deepening investment in direct-to-consumer streaming.
