National Confab On Nigeria’s Future Holds May 12

Emergency National Political Confab on the Constitutional future of Nigeria is set to hold in Abuja on Thursday, 12 May 2022 with popular Constitutional reforms and a credible 2023 elections on the card, Prime Business Africa reports.

The confab organised by the Nigeria Political Summit Group is expected to be an inclusive multi-stakeholder national dialogue. It’s it’s outcome would serve as a veritable mechanism for taking effective advantage of the ongoing constitution review process of the Nigerian National Assembly.

According to a Statement issued on Sunday by the National Organizing Committee of the Confab, the aim of the non partisan national dialogue is to reposition Nigeria on the path of cohesion, stability, security and prosperity by reclaiming the soul of the country from the current strangulation of heightening acrimony, distrust, insecurity, instability, political tension, violence, unimaginable killings and anarchy ahead of the forthcoming general elections in 2023.

A media briefing to herald the epoch-making event will hold on Tuesday, 3 May 2022 at the Centre for Values in Leadership (CVL), No. 6 Balarabe Musa Crescent, Adjacent 1004 Estate Entrance Gate, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Former military President Abdulsalami Abubakar and former Commonwealth Secretary-general Chief Emeka Anyaoku have been listed as co-chair for the event.

President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to lead a high-powered Federal Government delegation that also includes Vice president, Yemi Osinbajo as well as former Heads state, Senate President, Speaker House Of Representatives and Governors.

First class royal fathers like the Sultan of Sokoto, Ooni of Ife, Obi of Onitsha, Emirs, and eminent clergymen like Enoch Adeboye, Bishop David Oyedepo and others have been listed as ‘Father’s of the day’ at the event.

Lead speakers at the event include Major General TY Danjuma (rtd), Professor Ben Nwabueze, Chief Edwin Clark, Ango Abdullahi, Ayo Adebanjo, Tanko Yakassai, Audu Ogbeh, Chief Afe Babalola and Dan Suleman.

Tuesday’s press conference is organised by the Nigeria Political Summit Group in conjunction with the National Consultative Front, NCFront.
