Director General of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) Chief George Moughalu has challenged Senator Andy Uba’s decision to stall a suit filed against the latter at the Federal High Court, Abuja over his nomination by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the flagbearer of the All Progressive Congress for Saturday’s governorship election in Anambra state.

Moughalu had raised concerns over the conduct of the primaries held on June 26 and instituted a suit against the All Progressives Congress (APC) for ostensibly failing to conduct a free and fair primaries that eliminated him and installed Uba as the governorship candidate for the party.

In a rather bizzare twist to the situation, Uba through his lawyer M. A Mahmud SAN wrote to the Federal High Court presided over by Justice Ijeoma Ekwo asking the court not to deliver judgement citing insecurity.

The Court reportedly accepted senator Uba’s application.

This has infuriated the camp of Chief Moughalu who has written to Chief Judge of the Federal High Court in a bid to ensure that the court do not go ahead with the decision to block the judgment against Uba.

Moughalu insists that if senator Uba feels if there is insecurity issues in relation to the November 6 gubernatorial election, he should approach the Independent National Electoral Commission to postpone the election.
