Trading on Monday, May 12, ended with a N296.61 billion decline in Nigerian bourse’s market capitalisation, which fell to N68,04 trillion, from N68.33 trillion on Friday, May 9.
The decline was driven by a 0.54 percent decline in the all-share index (ASI), which lost 588.36 basis points to drop from 108,849.83 ASI to 108,261.47.

Top five gainers
- Multiverse’s share price increased by N1 to rise from N10 to N11 per share.
- SMURFIT’s share value grew by 10 percent, up from N0.50 kobo to N0.55 kobo per share.
- Meyer ended trading at N8.80 kobo per share, from N8 per share – indicating an increase of N0.80 kobo.
- Beta Glass gained N16.05 kobo to end trading at N176.70 kobo, having opened with N160.65 kobo.
- HMCall’s share value was up by N0.42 kobo, after closing at N4.67 kobo from N4.25 kobo per share.
Top five losers
- ETranzact’s share price depreciated by N0.60 kobo, dwindling from N6 to N5.40 kobo per share.
- John Holt recorded a N0.55 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N5.25 kobo after opening with N5.80 kobo per share.
- Union Dicon lost N0.80 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N7.65 kobo from N8.45 kobo per share.
- C&I Leasing reported a decline of N0.35 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N4.21 kobo to end trading at N3.86 kobo per share.
- Linkage Assurance recorded a N0.10 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N1.14 kobo after opening with N1.24 kobo per share.
