Lagos State Govt Issues Warning Against Unlicensed Gambling

In a stern warning to the public, the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LSLGA) has taken decisive action against unlicensed gaming companies operating in public.

The LSLGA has issued orders banning a slew of operators who have been conducting gambling activities without the necessary licences.

In an official statement, the LSLGA emphasized the seriousness of operating without a valid license, citing Section 33(3) of the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority Law 2021. The statement read: “A person without a subsisting license or authorization from the Authority shall not conduct or operate any gaming activity in the state.”

The list of erring gaming companies is extensive and includes names like Zebet, Betika, and 22Bet, among others. The LSLGA has made it clear that these operators are in violation of the law and should be avoided by gamblers.

The LSLGA’s move aims to safeguard the interests of all stakeholders in the gaming industry and reinforces its commitment to regulating and promoting responsible gaming in Lagos. Players are strongly urged to cease gambling with any of the listed operators to ensure compliance with the law and protect their interests.
