Lagos Police Arrest Sam Larry In Ongoing Mohbad Investigation

The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended the controversial Lagos socialite, Balogun Eletu, popularly known as Sam Larry, as part of an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the untimely demise of the talented singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad.

The arrest was confirmed by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, during a late-night telephone interview on Thursday. Hundeyin stated, “Yes, Balogun Eletu, aka Sam Larry, is now in our custody and is actively cooperating with the ongoing investigation.”

The investigation had previously led to the summoning of both Sam Larry and the renowned artist, Azeez Fashola, popularly referred to as Naira Marley, for questioning regarding the tragic loss of Mohbad.

Last week, the police provided an update that pathologists had successfully completed the autopsy on Mohbad, with the results still pending. This step followed the exhumation of Mohbad’s remains, carried out by a joint team of the Nigeria Police Force and healthcare professionals.

In addition to this arrest, the police have taken into custody the nurse who administered an injection to the late singer prior to his passing on Tuesday, September 12th.

The investigation continues, with the authorities diligently working to unravel the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
