Lagos-London Route: Gatwick Airport Urges Passengers To Fly Air Peace

Management of Gatwick Airport London has called on air passengers to patronise Nigeria’s largest airline, Air Peace, by booking its flight from London to Lagos.

The airport authority made the call via its X handle, @Gatwick_Airport while congratulating Air Peace on its inaugural flight to London that took place on 30 March 2024.

While welcoming Air Peace to what it described as the “Gatwick London Family”, the Airport management told passengers to book Air Peace’s daily flights to Lagos, adding that it is a perfect one for reconnecting with friends and loved ones or for business travellers.

The tweep reads: “Exciting news! We recently welcomed Nigerian carrier @flyairpeace to the London Gatwick family, flying daily to Lagos 🇳🇬

“Perfect for reconnecting with friends and loved ones or for business travellers, embark on your next journey from London Gatwick to Lagos with Air Peace. Book your flights today: gatwk.uk/3Jb1Slu

“And doesn’t the livery look great on the aircraft as it came under our Pier 6 bridge on its first arrival?”

Responding, Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, in a message via his X handle, appreciated Gatwick airport for the gesture.

Keyamo, however, noted that it was already belated, stating that the congratulatory message was expected to have come on the first day the inaugural flight took place.

The minister further stated he looks forward to working with Gatwick to ensure a seamless operations by Air Peace on the route.

He wrote: “We expected this on the first day of the arrival of one of our most important local airlines @flyairpeace, but better late than never.

“We look forward to working with you to ensure seamless operations by

@flyairpeace from your airport. The Government of Nigeria fully supports our local operators.”

Air Peace has continued to draw applause from Nigerians who express profound joy and support for the airline for making the country proud to begin the route that had hitherto been an exclusive preserve of foreign airlines operating into the country.
