‘Justice Can’t Be Cracked’: Released Activist Breaks Silence, Calls for Unity and Rule of Law

May 22, 2026

A Nigerian activist and social commentator at the centre of a controversial legal battle has broken his silence following his release, thanking Nigerians, media professionals, supporters, and critics who reacted to his detention and demanded fairness in the handling of his case, Prime Business Africa reports.

In a statement released on Friday, the activist expressed appreciation for the solidarity shown during what he described as a difficult period, while insisting that his commitment to justice, accountability, and national development remains unchanged.

“My dear Nigerians, colleagues in the media, critics, and everyone who lent their voice during this difficult period, I sincerely thank you all,” he stated.

The activist’s arrest and detention had sparked widespread reactions across social media platforms and civil society groups, with supporters calling for his release and adherence to due process.

Acknowledging both supporters and critics, he noted that democracy thrives on differing opinions and constructive engagement.

“To everyone who spoke concerning my release, prayed for me, and demanded fairness, I will never take your concern and solidarity for granted. And even to those who disagreed with me or questioned my actions, I still appreciate your voices because democracy gives room for different opinions,” he said.

He also dismissed suggestions that his actions were intended to undermine state institutions, stressing instead that his advocacy has always focused on the welfare of ordinary Nigerians.

“I also want to say clearly that my desire has never been to bring down any institution or create division. I respect the sacrifices of the men and women serving this country, just as I remain committed to speaking for ordinary Nigerians who dream of a better nation,” the statement added.

While declining to comment extensively on the allegations against him because the matter remains before the court, the activist expressed confidence in Nigeria’s judicial process and the rule of law.

“Since the matter is still before the court, I will avoid making statements that may interfere with the legal process. However, I remain confident in the rule of law and due process,” he said.

He further stressed that his focus was not on bitterness or confrontation, but on building a country where justice and opportunities are accessible to all citizens regardless of background or connections.

“At this moment, my focus is not bitterness, blame, or conflict. My focus remains the Nigeria we all deserve a Nigeria that works for everyone, where justice is fair, opportunities are equal, and where the child of nobody can truly become somebody without knowing anybody,” he stated.

The activist also called for continued dialogue, accountability, understanding, and unity as key pillars for Nigeria’s democratic growth and national stability.

The statement concluded with a message of gratitude and hope for the country, ending with the now-viral phrase: “Justice can’t be cracked.”

The phrase has since gained traction online, with supporters interpreting it as a symbol of resilience and confidence in the pursuit of justice.
